Wombwell golf course

This is a nine hole course and is ideal for young players or people just starting out in the game. This is a great course to learn to play golf on as it is easier than a full length golf course.

Establihed golfers still come here to play though and I always like to play this course. This is the course I learned on and it still appeals to me. The staff are very friendly and helpful but you may have to wait in line to play on here in the summer months or on weekends as this course does get very busy.

Expect to pay approx £5 for nine holes and £10 for 18 holes.

Dont let the fact that this is only nine holes put you off playing here. You will miss a little gem if you do. Some of the holes are easy but some are very tricky too. If you tend to hit your balls to the left then you will find yourself in lots of problems as there is out of bounds on the left on a lot of holes on this course. The reason for this is because the course is built on a square piece of land and the left sides of the square is out of bounds.

There is a bar and eating area in the clubhouse. Outside the clubhouse is a balcony with tables and chairs to enjoy your drink. The balcony gives you a view of the whole course below you.

You can also hire golf clubs to play on the course for a small fee. There is no driving range at this course.

Saturday mornings are for the members competitions so you may not get on the course until they have finished.

If you wish to become a member here it is priced very reasonable and you can then play in the competitions with the other members. New golfers or young golfers doing this will learn the rules of golf and golf course etiquette.
