Tinsley Park golf course

This is a very mature course, it was opened in the 1920s and is wonderful to play golf on. The local golf pro is Wayne yellott and he is very helpful and friendly.

A local airport was built very close to the golf course a few years ago and some major changes had to be made to some of the holes to accomadate this. The resulting changes to the holes have in my opinion improved these holes and they play and look much better than before. The airport will not distract you from your golf as it is only a small one and hardly any traffic goes in and out of it.

There used to be a lot of problems with vandalism and car break ins when golfers left there car in the golf course car park. Now though that problem has been resolved with the car park fenced off and a security guard permanantly in the car park. This service is charged to the golfers playing this course but it is only £1. This is well worth paying for the safety of your vehicle. I think a lot of other golf courses should adopt this idea in this day and age of car break ins.

The course is now part of the SIV LTD who also own two more local golf courses Birley wood and Beauchief in the Sheffield area. They have a great promotion on going at the moment where you pay approximatly £10 a week and you can play all their golf courses when ever you want. Excellent value for money.
